Winnipeg Paracon 2014
Over the weekend of September 12th, 13th and 14th leading experts in the field of paranormal research and investigation came together at the historic Marlborough Hotel in our very own Winnipeg for Paracon 2014. Winnipeg Paranormal Group Lead investigator, Kelly Smith along with WPG founder, Peter Andrew, spoke at the conference along side leading experts in the field. Experts flew in from all over including Ben Hansen of Fact or Faked, Scott Tepperman of Ghost Hunters International, Keith Age, host and Associate Producer of Spooked TV, Tim Maile of Paranormal Witness, Scotty Rorek of Paranormal Witness and Children of the Grave 2, Winnipeg’s very own UFO and Paranormal author and expert, Chris Rutkowski and the Other Side’s crew, Jeff Richards, Bill Connelly and Priscilla Wolf. The conference was the second of it’s kind held in Winnipeg for paranormal fans and enthusiasts to meet investigators up close and listen to their own experiences. Paracon goers also had the chance to attend a VIP dinner with the investigators and go on an investigation led by expert investigators in the Marlborough Hotel including a séance hosted by well known medium Scotty Rorek. ...
Winnipeg Paranormal Group in the Aikins Case
Our clients in the Aikins home reported things moving, screaming and other odd noises. Here is an example of an EVP (electronic voice phenomena) one of the team members discovered while playing back the digital recording. A couple of the team members had been talking, stopped and there was a disembodied voice whispering before team member, Adam, said “It’s snowing.” Although, the one thing we can’t agree on is what exactly this voice was whispering? Can you tell? What do you think it’s saying? Research into the background of the home was inconclusive. Remember, the best way to listen to EVPs is with a good pair of headphones. Winnipeg Paranormal Group and the Darkman Case
We found a number of anomalies at this home we investigated in the city. In fact, we followed up with a second investigation because of the team member experiences and to gather more evidence. The family at this location reported strange sounds on a daily basis. The main concern was for the safety of their young children. The four-year-old little boy told his mother a dark man lived in his bedroom closet, hence the case name. The residents reported sounds on the main floor as though someone was walking around at night and dark shadows in the halls. We discovered after the investigation that another former tenant who lived there reported similar experiences. A number of us experienced what we could only conclude as being paranormal including the feeling of being touched, a team member reported seeing a child’s hand waving as well as another team member who saw what she could only describe as pure white smoke traveling up to the ceiling before dissipating. Pictures were taken immediately after near the bed where the incidences occurred. When one of the members was looking at the pics on her phone, she stopped on the second picture below and could see that there was a difference in color on the bed as if there were an outline of someone standing on the bed. Without discussing it with anyone else, she passed it around the table and they all immediately pointed it out. We all came to the conclusion that it looked as if it were a girl standing on the bed. After we had come to this conclusion, one of the members who withheld information from the rest of the team for fear of influencing people told the story of a former resident who used to see a girl appearing in different areas of the home. ...
The Residential Specialists have arrived
The Winnipeg Paranormal Group (WPG), known for investigating paranormal activity in many famed attractions in Winnipeg and surrounding areas, is officially taking house calls. The Winnipeg Paranormal Group Residential Specialists – or WPGRS – is made up of five members of the original WPG. However, they will specialize in heading to homes where residents claim to have had unusual activity, possibly of the paranormal variety. The WPGRS was started due to demand from the public. Several e-mails are received each week to the group asking if their investigators could come out and check their homes. Due to the high demand, WPG recruited new members and have officially launched the Residential Specialists. The WPGRS, headed by investigators Adam Dreger-Desjarlais and Chris Reid, are officially taking requests for service – all offered for free. Winnipeg Paranormal Group members will also be available at the Central Canada Comic Con this November to take questions and try to debunk any paranormal ideas that visitors may have. Equipment and videos from WPG will also be on display. The WPGRS is being announced on the heels of wrapping up an investigation at the Festival du Voyageur head office on August 11, 2012. To have some of the WPGRS members visit your home, please send a detailed e-mail to wpgparanormal@gmail.com. The Winnipeg Paranormal Group was founded in 2008. The team has investigated and even debunked areas in Southern Manitoba that have a paranormal legend attached to them. For more information on the Winnipeg Paranormal Group, visit...
